Neska

Neska is one of those hundreds of dogs discarded yearly in this country. One of so many condemned to die in a ditch, run over, or from hunger and thirst.
A podenca, brown, tired of giving birth, in the bones, full of bugs, and with very high levels of Leishmania.
To make matters worse, Neska had puppies when she was found, puppies that she had raised by herself even at the cost of her health, 6 precious puppies, children of a warrior.
With the help of a rescue group and a cage trap, we got them all to safety.
When we saw her, as broken on the outside as on the inside, we made her a promise: we would do everything for her, she would never be afraid, hungry or in pain again…. We would have liked to promise her a family, and a home, but these cases are very difficult, we have to be realistic, and even more so when there is such a high level of leishmania.

And here we are, fighting with Neska for her recovery. Shock treatment for leishmania, vitamins to strengthen his defenses, antibiotics for his wounds, and good food ….

Neska will spend many months, even years, until someone notices her, if that ever happens.

No one sees in her how sweet and loving she is, no one sees the desire she has to love and be loved. The only thing they see in her is that she is a brown podenca with Leishmania.
