My story:

Vilma is a hunting dog with a very sad story, but to everyone else she is just a hunting dog. No one wonders why she finds it so difficult to trust people; they remain stuck in their fear and cannot see beyond it.

Vilma was two years old when we received the call: a hunting dog with puppies. There was an association for the puppies, but not for her. It wasn’t her first litter; the previous ones had been given away or simply disposed of. Before picking her up, we asked about her history. Vilma belonged to a retired hunter and lived in a kennel with Kiko, who had already been adopted. She was born in that kennel and had never, ever left. Twenty-four hours a day locked between four walls and a hard concrete floor, with only Kiko for company, and giving birth every six months.
As luck would have it, with her last litter, Vilma caught an infection that prevented her from nursing her puppies, but that was her salvation and, luckily, Kiko’s. She was no longer able to give birth, she was useless, and thanks to Mavi, we managed to get her transferred to us.

After a few months at the shelter, Vilma had to go to @adiestramentocaninolopecan because she needed a little extra help. She suffers from sensory deprivation from having lived in a kennel since birth.

We know how difficult it is, but we won’t give up!
Vilma is just an innocent soul, used and exploited, treated as a mere tool. Her time has not yet come, but it will.
